3. A similar reaction pathway was described by us in the cyclo-addition of dichloroketene to 5-dialkylaminomethylene-1,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2-methyl-1-phenylindol-4-ones, whereby 3-chloro-8-methyl-7-phenyl-7H-pyrano[2,3-e]indol-2-one was isolated in general as the sole product [6].
