Abstract
SummarySeeds of 46 species of Compositae were examined for fats & oils, starch and protein. All the examined species except 5 are herbs. Fats & oils were found to be present in all the investigated taxa and protein bodies were present in 7 species (Eleutheranthera ruderalis, Emilia coccinca, E. praetermissa, E. sonchifolia, Gynura miniata, Tithonia diversifolia and T. rotundifolia). Starch grains were found to be absent in all the investigated species.
