Initial boundary value problem for a Kirchhoff wave model with strong nonlinear damping

Abstract

This work is concerned with a Kirchhoff wave equation with strong nonlinear damping. We establish the local existence of the solution and provide some sufficient conditions for the global existence and finite time blow‐up of the solution. Moreover, we derive the exponential decay estimation of the energy functional and the upper and lower bounds of the blow‐up time.
