AbstractJames Tully is distinguished professor of political science, law, indigenous governance, and philosophy at the University of Victoria, Canada. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, an Emeritus Trudeau fellow and, in 2010, was awarded the Killam Prize in Humanities in recognition of his outstanding contribution to political theory and public life in Canada. For two decades, he coedited (with Quentin Skinner) theIdeas in Contextseries for Cambridge University Press.
