Abstract
This article offers an overview of engineering research methodology, including its characteristics and types, and the entire process, from proposal development to scientific publication. The first part of the review focuses on the initiation of a research project, including a literature review, proposal writing, and evaluation. The second section delves into the selection of research data and methods, such as quantitative, experimental, qualitative, and mixed, and examines the characteristics of different data types and methods. The final section discusses the execution, management, and reporting of an engineering research project, with a particular emphasis on research presentation, scholarly manuscript preparation, and publication processes.
