Abstract
Capgras syndrome and de Clérambault's syndrome are ‘uncommon psychiatric disorders' (Enoch, Trethowan and Barker, 1967). The literature contains accounts of one or very few cases of each. With both conditions, nosologists have been in dispute as to whether the syndrome is a description of specific bizarre symptoms occurring in the context of another psychosis or is a distinct entity.
