Abstract
The treatment of depression with desoxyephedrine (pervitin or methedrine) is not new. In 1943 Davidoff reported a comparison of the effect of this preparation with amphetamine and dextroamphetamine on 8 normal and 8 depressed individuals. He found that desoxyephedrine gave the most rapid results, acted the longest and produced the greatest motor activity the most often.
