Abstract
Abstract
Describes sandstones with a calcareous cement which occur in places in the Stampian (Tertiary) deposits of France. Their formation is due to local conditions, such as the invasion of lakes by the Stampian sea, whereas the well-known Stampian sands of the Paris basin are dune deposits whose cement is siliceous.
