Abstract
Abstract
After Mesozoic-Eocene sedimentation, distributed in several facies zones, western Sicily was affected by a tectonic-sedimentary phase of evolution. From the Oligocene to the lower Pliocene, subsidence, overburdening, and resedimentation developed, with offsetting toward the south. These phenomena are similar to those observed in the evolution of the southern Algerian Tell region and the outer Apennine ranges.
