Abstract
In recent years, gamification has been increasingly mentioned as an innovative methodology to achieve meaningful and dynamic learning. Role-playing game-based strategies fall into this category. The aim of this work is to explore the benefits, possible uses and problems that they present, in order to have a more precise perspective on their use. Toward achieving this objective, qualitative research has been carried out based on in-depth interviews with two educators who use this methodology. The results confirm both the feasibility and the potential benefits of this didactic approach. The influence of the context and the additional time and workload involved in carrying out this type of project were also highlighted.
