Abstract
The blood viscosity and hematocrit values were determined in ten patients who had major surgical operations on preoperative anda first, third and sixth postoperative days. While blood viscosity was found to be significantly increased on postoperative first and third days than preoperative values, the hematocrit levels were significantly higher only on postoperative first day. The blood viscosity values at hematocrit values adjusted to 50% were also found to be significantly higher on postoperative first and third days.
