Improving the energy efficiency of industrial enterprises in the context of digital transformation

Abstract

Subject. The article deals with domestic economy transition to the path of innovative development and new directions for innovative breakthroughs. Improving the energy efficiency of domestic economic sectors and digital transformation of industrial enterprises can be considered as one of possible directions. Objectives. The aim is to develop recommendations for improving energy efficiency. Methods. The study rests on general scientific methods of cognition. Results. We presented theoretical foundations of improving the energy efficiency of an industrial enterprise, unveiled the features of energy efficiency in metallurgy as one of the most significant and energy-intensive branches of domestic industry, considered the most significant metallurgical enterprises representing the basis of the industrial sector of Russia. We also analyzed the impact of digital transformation of metallurgical enterprises on their energy efficiency improvement. Conclusions. The presented approach will provide an opportunity to expand the methodology for improving the energy efficiency of enterprises and increasing the energy intensity of their equipment.
