Abstract

Subject. The article discusses the need to form a model of library functioning, which, in addition to storage, can act as an infrastructure providing information support for the development of the national economy. Objectives. The study aims to develop theoretical and methodological provisions for the formation and implementation of a strategy for advanced development of the library sector in the innovation economy. Methods. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research was the scientific works by foreign and domestic scientists, leading consulting companies in the field of management theory, theory of strategizing and innovation management. Results. We examined principles of strategizing the development of the library as a center of digital competencies to promote innovative services for readers, authors, society, government and business. Conclusions. The integration of modern technologies into library activities, ensuring the relationship between the physical and virtual world, will bring the library to a completely new level of relationships with readers, and significantly increase the efficiency of information use.
