Inter-municipal cooperation as a tool for the development of regional municipal entities

Abstract

Subject. This article discusses the issues of creating favorable conditions for the innovative development of the regions. Objectives. The article aims to identify areas for improving the competitiveness of municipal formations. Methods. For the study, we used correlation and factor analyses, and the methods of comparison and generalization. Results. The article identifies four main factors contributing to the development of municipal entities and presents perceptual maps for fourteen municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with population less than fifteen thousand people. Conclusions. Mutual cooperation of municipal entities in certain areas can contribute to improving the investment attractiveness of the region and the standard of living of the population.
