Abstract

Subject. Labor force and labor productivity of those employed in the regional economy determine not only the economic development of the territory in the present and future, but also the living standards, making it necessary to perform a comprehensive analysis of using this type of resources. Methods. I employ methods of generalization of official statistical information, assessment of dynamics of development, ranking of subjects according to indicators under investigation, and the comparative and factor analysis. Results. I calculated the absolute indicators of labor productivity, revealed trends in the growth of labor productivity in absolute terms, determined the degree of influence of capital-labor ratio and capital productivity ratio on labor productivity levels, concluded on the need to improve the efficiency of using the fixed assets to increase labor productivity. Conclusions. All regions have a common problem associated with low efficiency of the use of fixed assets, which determines the need to increase the technical equipment of enterprises, improve the skills of workers and managers, optimize production processes and logistics, and reduce working- hour losses.
