Application of the Honey - Alonso Questionnaire for the characterization of learning styles in students of Higher Basic Education

Abstract

The teachers' strategies in the classroom are more adequate if the students' learning styles are known. The objective of this research was to apply the Honey - Alonso questionnaire for the characterization of learning styles in higher basic education students. The methodology applied was non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory, and fieldwork. The approach was quantitative, with a KR20 reliability of 0.878. The population sample consisted of 119 students, and the SPSS V.23 and Excel programs were used to process the information. The results indicated that the theoretical style is predominant. Knowing the learning style will allow teachers to design didactic strategies that encourage practical activity when choosing a career in the technical baccalaureate.
