Abstract
A comprehensive review of dyspepsia is presented. Topics include causes of dyspepsia, prevalence, causes of symptoms (motility abnormalities, visceral hypersensitivity, psychosocial aspects, role ofHelicobacter pylori), investigations of patients with dyspepsia and, finally, whether there is effective treatment.
