Biweights and*-homomorphisms of partial*-algebras

Abstract

Consider two partial*-algebras,1and2, and an*-homomorphismΦfrom1into2. Given a biweightϕon2, we discuss conditions under which the natural compositionϕ∘ΦofϕandΦis a biweight on1. In particular, we examine whether the restriction of a biweight to a partial*-subalgebra is again a biweight.
