Abstract
The Kaluga region has many competitive advantages in terms of tourism development, the main of which are the location in the center of the main tourist routes of Russia and the proximity of the capital, a rich historical past, picturesque natural landscapes, developed infrastructure and transport accessibility. The need to develop domestic tourism in the region is also emphasized in the Strategy of socio-economic development of the Kaluga Region until 2030. At the moment, many tourist destinations are being implemented, ranging from cultural and educational and ending with a modern direction — agrotourism, which need to be expanded taking into account market requirements and the latest developments in the world. In 2022, the demand for tourism within the country has significantly increased, so it is necessary to increase the attractiveness of the region as a region of «innovative development».
