Abstract
Salivary obstruction is usually due to either calculi or strictures. These may be diagnosed using a combination of sialography and high resolution ultrasound. Minimally invasive techniques such as fluoroscopy guided basket retrieval of calculi or balloon dilation of strictures are successful techniques and may be carried out in a general hospital setting. These techniques may be developed for use under ultrasound guidance.
