An Efficient One-pot Stereoselective Synthesis of 2,6-disubstituted 4-thiocyanatotetrahydropyrans

Abstract

An efficient stereoselective synthesis of 2,6-disubstituted-4-thiocyanatotetrahydropyrans has been developed through a one-pot three-component reaction of aldehydes, trimethyl allylsilane, and NH<sub>4</sub>SCN in the presence of BF<sub>3</sub>.Et<sub>2</sub>O at room temperature. The products are formed rapidly (10-30 min) in excellent yields (78-98%).
