Abstract
In this overview of the pharmacology of the anticancer dru!:'. cyclophosphamide, a brief history of the development of this drug from the gener,11 class of nitrogen mustards is provided. The antitumor activity of cyclophosphamidc and its isomer ifosfamide is discussed through considerations of metabolism. resistance, detoxification, and DNA cross-linking. Clinical uses in general chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation and immunosuppression are presented. A review with 73 references.
