Abstract
Abstract:
Peptides are important as drugs and biologically active molecules. The synthesis of pep-tides has gathered considerable attention in recent years due to their various attractive properties. Conventional peptide synthesis is tedious and requires hazardous reagents and solvents. Micro-wave-assisted solid-phase peptide synthesis has several advantages compared with conventional batch synthesis. Herein, we have discussed various microwave-assisted solid-phase peptide bond synthesis methods developed over the last five years. Peptides are categorized into four groups - small, medium, large, and cyclic based on their length and structural characteristics to make it easier to understand. This review article also discusses the scope and limitations of microwave-assisted solid-phase peptide synthesis.
