Abstract
This paper details the development of a monitoring and control system for level regulation in bottles during filling operations. The dispensing system used is a multi-fill carousel employing vacuum filling of up to 16 bottles simultaneously. Normal production rates are around 400 bottles per minute. In the scheme proposed, ultrasound technology and computer control are used to regulate fluid level in order to achieve a rapid response system that is flexible and highly accurate. Further industrial applications of the technology are indicated.
