Abstract

Piezo-resistivity, ‘end’ effects, and transverse connections are taken into account in semi-quantitative formulae capable of reproducing observed magnitudes and systematic changes of gauge factor and cross-sensitivity in foil and wire gauges and of suggesting means for reducing cross-sensitivity.
