Abstract
A boundary element formulation for the solution of viscoplasticity problems in the presence of large strains and displacements is presented in this paper. The BEM formulation is based on an appropriate form of Betti's reciprocal theorem together with a time marching scheme using an updated Lagrangian approach. Numerical results are presented for various plane strain and plane stress viscoplasticity problems. Results from the boundary element analysis are compared to those from the finite element analysis with regard to accuracy and computational efficiency.
