A Multi-Specimen Rotating Bending Fatigue Machine

Abstract

The development of a multi-specimen slow cycle corrosion fatigue machine is described and discussed. This equipment allows up to eight specimens to be tested simultaneously in rotating bending at frequencies in the range 1–9 Hz. Each specimen may be immersed in its own environment and potentiostatically controlled. Circuits are described which allow the corrosion current and potential of each specimen to be monitored throughout testing.
