Abstract
A class of controls, named as front end (FE) control, has been suggested recently. Its application in improving the quality of response of a pneumatically driven pick and place robot module has been experimentally investigated. However, a unified design approach for such FE control systems is yet to be formulated. This paper considers this problem and presents a design approach for an FE controlled second-order plant.
