A tutorial system on inorganic chemical formulations and reactions

Abstract

This paper proposes a model that permits the development of a tutorial system devoted to teaching formulation and reactions in inorganic chemical. The model is based on both abstract data structures to represent this type of knowledge and the use of an Object-Oriented paradigm which permits the development of complex systems which can be used as a tutorial system for students as well as an expert system for researchers.The user interacts with the system through sentences representing inorganic chemical names (in several nomenclatures) working in a graphic environment that permits the development of powerful user interface necessary in this kind of system.
