Abstract
Kumiyo Nakakoji is currently a professor at the Unit of Design, Center for the Promotion of Interdisciplinary Education and Research, Kyoto University. She has also been directing the Key Technology Laboratory, Software Research Associates, Inc., Japan. She received her B.S. in information engineering from Osaka University, Japan (1986) and M.S. (1990) and Ph.D. (1993) in computer science from University of Colorado, Boulder, certified by Institute of Cognitive Science. She was a professor at Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo prior to the current positions. She has served as chairs, editors, and committee members for a number of research communities, journals, and conferences, in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, and Design and Creativity Support. Nakakoji was awarded the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from College of Engineering, University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2006. Her research interests include human-computer interaction design, collective creativity, and knowledge interaction design, which is a framework for the design and development of computational tools for creative knowledge work.
