Abstract
In this paper it is explained how we developed an APL preprocessor to work with TROFF and a laser printer for typesetting APL text along with equations, tables, and ordinary text. In doing this work, we addressed these problems: (1) the representation of APL material, (2) the development of a language to control the APL font, and (3) the design of a pre-processor.
