The students conference—a tool for the teaching of research, writing, and presentation skills

Abstract

Good communication skills are very important for any professional career. But few computer science curricula provide courses to acquire these skills.This paper describes a "conference course," which was held at our department to address research, technical writing and presentation skills. We outline the experiment, discuss our experiences, and present a proposal for a follow-up course.
