Abstract
A description is made of an interface between Control Data's APL2 and Cincom's TOTAL data base manager. The areas discussed are: organization of TOTAL data bases, the interface to APL2, the interface to the APL user, and comments on the use of this system. It was found that the difference in costs between coding a moderately sized application in COBOL and APL was enough to pay for implementing the interface, with savings remaining after that.
