Abstract
Minix is a Unix clone Operating System, designed by Tanembaum ([2],[3]) to allow beginners to do practical training in Operating Systems area. In this context the present paper describes the work done by a group of undergraduates implementing extensions in device management. Problems in the original code, detected during the analysis and development stages, are also reported.
