Abstract
APL arrays can be perceived to consist of several
parts
. This concept is extended and rationalized. Together with
keyed indexing
, it allows to treat all entities in an APL system as arrays. The human interface to such a system is a recursive
array editor
(
ae
), which is isomorphic to the APL language.Finally, a design of such an editor for a workstation with bitmapped display is presented.
