Abstract
A literature review showcasing what specialists who work and publish scientific papers, involving action research in the field of computer science, think and do. It includes the 97 most cited (ten times or more) Computer Science papers that deal with action research, published between 2010 and 2019, and retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science databases. Specialists in information systems are using action research in various research capabilities, not only in the construction of artifacts, but mainly to improve their communication capacities with users and vice versa.
