The origin of spiritual education in modern Russia

Abstract

This article looks at the process of establishing spiritual education. The need for spiritual education to form the moral guidelines of modern society is proved. The place of religious and theological disciplines in the general education system is designated. Legislation regulating religious education is being studied. The reasons for the opposition to the consolidating efforts of the Russian Orthodox Church are indicated. The emphasis is on the need to educate a thinking citizen. Which, in turn, is an obstacle to the emergence of totalitarian control systems, as well as control systems from outside.
