Abstract
The article discusses the issues of design development of cluster-type machine tools used in the machining of a cluster of box-type workpieces in flexible production systems. The design is based on the principles that must be followed in the process of developing the design of cluster-type devices. The device that is being developed must provide the specified accuracy and clamping force when installing a cluster of parts, and also be applicable in complex automation conditions. The sequence of the development of the design of cluster-type devices is presented, taking into account the peculiarities of their use in automated production. An example of creating a cluster-type device for a given parts cluster is shown. This reduces the complexity of the development of cluster-type machine tools and takes into account the design features of the processed products, tooling and structural elements of the device. A method of designing cluster-type devices for the installation of box-type workpieces in an automated technological complex (flexible production system) was developed. This method reduces the complexity of the development of cluster-type machine tools and considers the design features of the processed products, tooling and structural elements of the device.
