Abstract
The article provides an overview and comparison of methods for assessing quality of life of patients with hearing impairment. One of the main indicators of the level of the state development at the present stage is the quality of life of its citizens. Even now there are some discrepancies in assessing the quality of human life in the scientific literature. Moreover, selection of objective, "measurable" criteria (such as level of educational, indicators of financial well-being, assessment of housing conditions, structure of nutrition, health care availability, etc.) does not fully reflect the multicomponent concept of quality of life and requires additional for subjective criteria for the assessment system – characteristics of physical, mental and social well-being based on subjective perception and self-rating of a person. Systems medical and sociological research of the quality of human life can provide significant assistance in the formation of an objective understanding concerning specifics of social burden of sensorineural hearing loss.
