Abstract

The coronavirus pandemic has made significant changes in our lives. The organization of summer health-improving recreation takes one of the leading places in the problem of preserving and strengthening the health of children. Summer is one of the natural environmental factors that increase the internal reserves of the body and contributes to the development of the child’s physical abilities. One of the important health-preserving factors is the duration of the shift during which the health of children takes place. The article is devoted to assessing the effectiveness of the summer health campaign in the Astrakhan region in the context of a shortened 14‑day shift. On the basis of the children’s health center «named after A. S. Pushkin» conducted research, which was attended by children aged 7–15 years during the summer health campaign. The data obtained were analyzed using generally accepted methods of mathematical statistics. To identify the level of significance of differences we used Student’s t-test. The health-improving effect was analyzed and a conclusion was made about the short time spent by children in order to obtain a positive dynamic of indicators of physical fitness. The effectiveness of the health improvement of the rested in 2021 was as follows: a pronounced health-improving effect was observed in 51.9 % of children. A weak health-improving effect was noted in — 32.2 %, the absence of a health-improving effect — in 15.9 % of children. The results obtained during the study will make it possible to determine the directions and forms of organization of medical care in order to prevent deviations in the state of health. These results can serve as a basis for further development of control measures and means of promoting and maintaining the health of children in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, shifts lasting at least 21 days can be considered wellness.
