On the issue of the effi ciency of grain export and import in the EAEU

Abstract

A characteristic feature of Russian exports in the agri-food sector is that about 70% of the products of this sector supplied to the EAEU countries’ market have a relatively high degree of processing, meanwhile, products supplied outside the EAEU mainly have a low degree of processing. In the sphere of trade in grain products, there is a suffi cient number of problems, which are also exacerbated by the current political situation. In order to increase the effi ciency of mutual trade between the EAEU countries and reduce the share of “shady schemes”, it is possible to organize an authorized interstate agrarian exchange. This measure will help increase the transparency and stability of the grain trade, as well as contribute to pricing streamlining.
