We Are All Curators Now

Abstract

The volume of information circulating online has become so large that it overwhelms the human capacity to comprehend it. Although algorithms and digital tools may be necessary simply to cope with the flow of data, people still need to learn how to select, use, and interpret the digital material available to them; in short, they need to adopt some of the principles of curation to contend with the information overflow. Educators, whose work as teachers makes them natural curators, have a critical role to play in helping learners develop their curation skills.
