Abstract
Instructors at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) have a long-standing commitment to the use of radiographic films in teaching introductory anatomy in the DVM program. The imaging component of the course has evolved from being heavily instructordependent, with small group teaching in each laboratory session, to being almost self-taught. The manner in which recognition of structures in radiographic images is examined has also changed. In 2001 a novel examination process was introduced. Here we report the approach to the teaching and examining of anatomy by use of radiographic images implemented for phase 1 of the new DVM curriculum at the University of Guelph.
