Abstract

This paper examines Alaska’s education spending for fiscal year 2023, and the budget for 2024. Alaska’s funding priorities are highlighted in this study, such as increased funding for the state’s literacy act and an increase in the funding formula through a per student increase in the base student allocation. Alaska continues to address funding issues surrounding federal Title VII Impact Aid as well as finding ways to recruit and retain teachers.
