Features of sports selection of basketball students

Abstract

The article defines the main criteria for sports selection in basketball. The features of selection in the system of long-term training of basketball players in Ukraine and abroad are analyzed. Based on the analysis of the literature in this area, the main criteria for sports selection at the initial stage of training basketball students have been established. Basketball in our country continues to gain more and more popularity as a spectacular and emotional kind of sports games. Modern trends in the development of basketball require Ukrainian athletes to fully realize their game potential. It is known that the preliminary stage, followed by a chain of pedagogical and organizational means of a long-term training system, is the selection of young athletes. The quality of the first stage of selection depends on the effectiveness of solving the problems of the next stages of sports training of basketball players, as well as the full implementation of the existing talents of children in sports abilities.
