Abstract

In the conditions of military operations on the territory of Ukraine, a significant part of the population was under the influence of stress factors of combat activity. An important area of research is the detection of reactions to crisis phenomena of various population groups, in particular, student youth. The purpose of the article was to investigate the behavior and reactions of students of higher education institutions in physical culture and sports under the influence of crisis phenomena caused by hostilities in the country. Research methods: questionnaires, statistical analysis. 218 students of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport took part in the study. The average age of the respondents was 21 years. The majority of students, 63.8%, experienced negative experiences as civilians, 33.3% as volunteers, and the remaining 3.8% as military personnel, while continuing an active lifestyle (43.1%). General anxiety, aggressiveness and depressive states were found to be statistically significantly more characteristic of female students (p<0.05), while mood swings are characteristic of students in conditions of long-term continuation of crisis phenomena regardless of gender (p>0.05). At the same time, the intensity of combat stress in students does not depend on their location during active combat operations (p>0.05). Systematic exercise can affect the psycho-emotional state of students under the influence of crisis phenomena.
