Abstract
The article reveals the specifics of gender identification of future law enforcement officers of both sexes who are engaged in ju-do, free-fight, MMA, and cheerleading. Using the example of a study of gender identification of a person according to the S. Bem method in law enforcement cadets of both sexes, it is possible to trace the influence of various sports on the psychological gender of those involved. The purpose of the study is to identify the degree of manifestation of masculinity/femininity in cadet athletes, students of higher education with specific conditions of study. Cadets (girls, average age – 19.12±1.02, boys – average age 19.44±11.12) of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs participating in the research participated in various sports, namely ju-do, free - fight, MMA, cheerleading (girls, n=36; boys, n=44) and students of both sexes who do not play sports, of the same age. Cadets of both sexes engaged in free-fit, ju-do, MMA, cheerleading show a tendency towards masculinization. In the group of male and female students who do not play sports, individuals with an androgynous gender type prevail. The obtained data will be able to more thoroughly investigate the issues of prevention and correction of manifestations towards the masculinization of women, which is a consequence of sports.
