Abstract
It is known that proportional reasoning skills are necessary in solving many problems that are frequently encountered in daily life. In this direction, there are proportional reasoning problems in many subjects such as data analysis, probability, slope, in addition to the concepts of ratio and proportion in the middle school mathematics course. When we look at the literature, it is known that the proportional reasoning problem types used for the development of proportional reasoning skill are discussed under three headings:finding the missing, quantitative (numerical) comparison and qualitative comparison. On the other hand, skill-based questions have started to take their place in high school entrance exams since 2018 for students to be more successful in real life problems and to make connections with school mathematics. It is not known to what extent these questions cover problem types involving proportional reasoning skills. In this study, it is aimed to classify the skill-based questions, which have a very important place in today's education and are used in the assessment and evaluation phase of the learning-teaching process, according to the proportional reasoning problem types. Exam (LGS) questions were examined. It was determined that 82 of the examined questions included proportional reasoning. Considering the distribution of these questions according to 8th grade subjects, it was seen that the
least inequality in data analysis and proportional reasoning in geometric concepts were included. However, it has been determined that most of the questions involving proportional reasoning are the problem types of finding the missing problem. As a result, it has been determined that the distribution of the sample skill-based questions published according to the proportional reasoning problem types is not equal.
