Abstract
The article presents a historical and comparative analysis of the economic basis of socialism of the future in the views of conservatives and reformists from the ideological leadership of the CPSU during the years of perestroika. It also shows the reasons for the crisis and disintegration of the ideological field of the CPSU and the split in the Soviet political elite of the USSR based on fundamental economic concepts.
