30 years of research on Chinese sports history: basic knowledge, frontier hotspots and theme evolution

Abstract

The article searches and analyzes the literature, including monographs and textbooks, on the study of the history of sports in China over the past 30 years. The research results show that the research of sports history has experienced intermittent. The three stages of silent period, tortuous rise period and transitional decline period are closely related to the development of China's sports industry and historical theories and methods. The authors hope that future research in the history of sports will focus on theoretical and methodological innovations in the history of sports, the search and analysis of new materials on the history of sports, filling in gaps and in-depth study of the existing history of sports.
